Much-maligned star wants Chelsea future, willing to stay despite interest
Radamel Falcao is ready to rebuff potential interest from China and prove his worth atChelsea, according to his father.
The Colombia international is currently on loan at Stamford Bridge from Monaco, and has endured a woeful campaign in west London.
So far the 29-year-old has netted one goal in the blue shirt and is currently out of action through injury.
Further to this, he appears to be the fourth in line for a starting spot under Guus Hiddink, who added Alexandre Pato to Loic Remy and Diego Costa in his attacking armoury ahead of the last transfer deadline.
Falcao himself has been aligned with a lucrative move to the emerging Chinese Super League of late – the window in the East Asian nation remains open for another 10 days – but his father, Radamel Garcia, told RCN Radio that his son has no desire to leave Chelsea, and is keen to prove himself when he comes back from injury:
"I was with him about a month ago, he was very well, he knows how to handle these things, "He was positive, every day preparing to come back. These injuries are normal in football.
"He likes challenges. He will keep playing in Chelsea until the end of the season. Many things can happen, he can start scoring goals and people can realise his importance.”
Garcia went on to claim that China is not an option being considered by Falcao right now:
"He is not thinking about moving to China at all. He is just thinking about playing for Chelsea.”
