#RESPECT : Angry Fans Cheer Up,Smile After Samuel Eto’o’s SELFIE intervention
Disgruntled fans of Antalyaspor descended upon the clubs training ground on Tuesday to protest over their dire campaign – but the boos quickly turned to cheers when skipper Samuel Eto’o arrived to cool tempers.
The Turkish side are currently 14th in the Super Lig after losing to Genclerbirligi, the team ranked one place below them, and face tricky back-to-back tests against league leaders Fenerbahce in both the cup and Super Lig.
While preparing for Wednesday’s match against Fenerbahce at training, a horde of unhappy fans arrived at the complex to show their anger towards the season and under-pressure manager Jose Morais, the former assistant of Jose Mourinho.
Eto’o shared one of the snaps on his Instagram account with a message for the supporters he had met: “I’ll never leave you. I’ll fight for you to the last drop of my blood. Thank you for your trust and support. Let’s go scorpions!”
But they quickly changed their mind over the protest when Eto’o arrived and began talking and taking selfies with the fans.
Suddenly, the previously furious supporters were smiling for photographs, cheering and singing songs instead of booing the team, all because of the Cameroon legend’s intervention.
