  Whether you have ambitions to be a developer, or just want to be digitally

literate, taking your first steps in code can be daunting. But as with any kind of education, the right teacher can make all the difference. Mammoth Interactive is a studio owned by John Bura, a developer with years of professional experience, and at the PopSci Shop, you can currently take five of his introductory video courses absolutely free.

Each track is an hour long, and focuses on a particular language. You first learn about HTML and CSS, the two standards which are used in every website and app. The tuition starts from scratch, with Bura teaching you all the basic tags and elements, before showing you how to build your very first web app, and convert it to be uploaded to the App Store. The other tracks look at JavaScript, JQuery and HTML5, all of which are frequently used for creating beautiful, dynamic sites
