Chelsea are keen to raid upcoming Champions League opponents Paris Saint-Germain, with Marco Veratti, Edinson Cavani and Gregory van der Wiel their top targets, according to reports from BuzzSport.
The defending Premier League champions have endured a woeful start to the season and currently sit in 14th position, just three points clear of the relegation zone.
Jose Mourinho has been sacked recently and replaced by Guus Hiddink on an interim basis, but even with the uncertainty in west London the club are reportedly looking to sign three of PSG’s first-team stars shortly before taking them on in their UCL last-16 tie.
It’s claimed that midfielder Verratti is seen as an upgrade on struggling Spaniard Cesc Fabregas.
Similarly, Cavani could be used to fire the goals Costa has failed to supply this season.
Finally Van der Wiel is an option following the worrying decline in usually reliable right-back Branislav Ivanovic’s performances.
However, with PSG backed by wealthy Middle Eastern owners and known to be fiercely ambitions, it seems unlikely that they would sanction all three, if any, deals with their imminent continental opponents.
